Learn the Movement
NO CLASSES IN FEBRUARY 2019
CLASSES:
For all your growing Ninjas, Traceurs, and future Stunt Doubles, this class will teach your aspiring athletes how to challenge themselves and overcome obstacles in a safe way.
This class is taught using the Parkour "Level Up" system, meaning the student will build upon foundational skill sets for movement and graduate onto each new level.
We start with the very essentials of obstacle safety, from how to condition our bodies for challenge to how to land a jump and properly avoid a fall.
These students will learn basic Parkour Fundamentals and how to efficiently navigate the terrain. This is a challenging and confidence building class.
Come join the movement!
PK 101
This is the entry level to Pinellas Parkour. Every student will begin with the basics to all Parkour movements. Progression is the most import component of any training system. Without it the entire training program can fall apart leading to injuries, mental blocks, discouraging results, frustration, boredom with the activity, many hours spent training without personal gains and long term physical damage to the body and overall mind set. A proper plan of progression not only increases the amount of learning at any given time but it helps build the confidence needed to achieve any goal set by the coach and the athlete. That being said… progression must also be a constant growth as well. Pk101 is the introduction into the curriculum and a must for every student entering the class!
Level 1: Foundations
This is the follow up to PK101. All students will have tested out of 101 and will begin to master the foundational elements to Parkour. Students will have a pass book with curriculum exercise to practice and then graduate. Once all exercises have been mastered and tested out the student will be given the invitation to level up to the next class. All students in Level 1 foundations are considered the white level and will be given a wrist band to identify their commitment and skill set.
Class Recommendations:

Where it is not necessary to have specific Parkour shoes, it is recommended students have comfortable shoes equipped with RUBBER, not foam soles. The grip provided by good old rubber versus the newer compounds found on today's athletic shoes tends to give more stability in mastering the Parkour landings necessary. New balance, Puma, and Altra provide good alternatives for shoes found anywhere. More specific to Parkour choices would be OLLO, KO, Tiger ,and Feiyue as these are the preferred alternatives to professional traceurs world wide. Much like basketball has a specific shoe design for the movements in basketball, there are companies creating shoes with Parkour in mind. These are our top choices..

Water is essential to any and all physical activity, specifically when it comes to running, jumping, and climbing. We want to be sure our students have a water bottle filled for class. There will be plenty of water breaks during class. There is also a water fountain outside of the gymnasium to refill bottles or drink at as well.
Clothing:
Loose wear is best for Parkour and Free-running as the students will be asked to move in many directions. Anything that restricts the students natural movement can hinder their training. Sweat pants serve best for beginners so as not to end up with bumps and scratches as they are learning the new movement patterns. As they feel comfortable, shorts can be introduced as an alternative. T-shirts or tank tops are great for training as long as the student feels comfortable in full movement and they don't restrict movement.
